Wayne Urquhart is a Principal at Acumen Consulting, a Lominger Associate business which operates in partnership with the DHR Group throughout Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.
Leveraging through the complete Lominger competency e-suite and card based toolkit, Acumen works alongside global and Australasian financial, manufacturing, telecommunication and service based businesses, effecting culture transformation and management behaviour improvement at organisational, business unit, team and individual leader levels. Drawing from his professional experiences, Wayne provides people strategy facilitation, development feedback, executive coaching and business project management services.
Wayne has over twenty years commercial experience, having held senior management as well as sales leadership positions in the insurance and related services industry. He has worked in Executive Recruitment and HR project consulting positions. Earlier, he owned and operated a mid size retail service business, gaining experience in grassroots operations and developing people leadership. Wayne was originally a front line serving member of the New Zealand Police Dept for nine years. |
In his current role, Wayne provides consulting support to executives and senior management teams, assisting them to add process and rigour in their definition of people strategy pathways. He also guides strategic leaders to identify and deliver core behavioural frameworks to realise those business initiatives.
Wayne consults with executive and functional leaders in the competency modeling processes surrounding identification and development of Hi Potentials (HiPo's), people strategy formulation, business leadership, change management, recruitment and selection as well as lifting the capability levels of sales and marketing departments.
He is a qualified Certifier for The LEADERSHIP ARCHITECT® Suite of products; also facilitating leadership courses at the University of Auckland.
Wayne is completing research towards a Master of Management Studies (Organisational Behaviour), having earlier completed an MBA through Massey University. He also holds Diploma level qualifications from the insurance industry.
