Lominger’s SUCCESSION ARCHITECT® Proprietary Process

Succession planning is the strategic, systematic, and deliberate process to provide mission-critical experiences and to develop essential competencies in potential leaders. This is accomplished through targeted learning methods and experiences in order to fill key senior roles and positions. Lominger’s SUCCESSION ARCHITECT® process starts with executive-level buy-in to ensure the foundation required to build a succession system. From there, the process of TALKING TALENT® begins.

TALKING TALENT® is a principal dimension of the SUCCESSION ARCHITECT® process. The TALKING TALENT® sessions are facilitated, challenging peer review discussions designed to provide executives and managers a framework for using a nine-cell matrix to openly discuss talent under review. While many organizations have used a nine-cell matrix for years, few are disciplined in defining the axes of Performance and Potential in a way that makes people comparisons meaningful. Lominger’s CHOICES ARCHITECT® Dimensions for learning agility provide a research-based, validated instrument for defining potential. The Performance Potential Matrix (PPM) is a method of placing value on a person in terms of long-term potential for significant growth in responsibility.

TALKING DEVELOPMENT™ is the second principal dimension of Lominger’s SUCCESSION ARCHITECT® process. A differentiated care and treatment plan behind each of the nine cells of the Performance Potential Matrix provides targeted and specific development for all employees as needed. In addition to having treatment plans for their employees, managers and leaders are prepared to debrief their employees about plans for development.

Lominger’s SUCCESSION ARCHITECT® process can be implemented according to your needs.
