LEADERSHIP ARCHITECT® Factor and Cluster Sort Cards with Quick Reference Guide
Competency Factors and Clusters in the LEADERSHIP ARCHITECT® Suite provide a common language to help you identify the skills and behaviors needed to succeed.
The LEADERSHIP ARCHITECT® Factor and Cluster Sort Card Deck is made up of single cards devoted to each of 21 Leadership Architect® Competency Clusters and 5 Career Staller and Stopper Clusters (the Competency and Staller and Stopper Clusters are further grouped into 8 research-based Factors which are noted on each card) and 7 Global Focus Areas. On the front side of each card is the competency cluster definition (the “skilled” picture); on the back of each card are the “unskilled” and the “overused skill” (using a skill too much) definitions.
The card decks can be used for:
- Selection – Provides a broad initial assessment of skill level
- Job Profiling – Creates a high-level profile of the competency clusters that lead to success in a given job role
- Skill Assessment – Provides a rough assessment of the current skill level of an individual or team
- Gap Analysis – Determine the gaps between an individual’s current skill and the skills needed for success in a given job role
- Coaching for development – Provides guidance to coach around developmental themes
- 360° evaluation – Use for more frequent 360° evaluation or “first look” 360°

LEADERSHIP ARCHITECT® Factor and Cluster Sort Cards Quick Reference Guide
The Factor and Cluster Quick Reference Guide is a user-friendly, easy-to-follow color guide offering step-by-step instructions on the most common card sorts (including how to use the Global Focus Area cards), as well as how to utilize tally sheets, and effective ways to formulate group card sort results. Also included is a comparison table of common uses for both the LEADERSHIP ARCHITECT® Competencies and Competency Clusters. This 29-page guide is approximately 81⁄2” x 11” with a glossy cardstock cover.
