When do I need an intellectual property license?
An intellectual property license is necessary to create a derivative work, which is any product that alters the original work. For example, copying portions of the content into another document, adding or deleting from the content, making changes to the wording, or adding in your own company training options creates a derivative work that requires an intellectual property license. If you use products in their existing format, such as sorting cards and posting your results in a tally sheet, or using FYI For Your Improvement™ to create your personal development plan, you do not need a license.
Purchasing products or becoming certified does not give you permission to copy from, reprint, create derivatives, or modify Lominger products. All of these activities require an intellectual property license.
Who can buy a license?
Lominger intellectual property licenses are available to organizations (corporations, nonprofit agencies, and governmental departments or agencies) to create derivative works for use inside the organization. Licenses are not available to consultants or third-party vendors.
How much does a Lominger intellectual property license cost?
License prices are based on a number of factors, including the total number of employees of the licensing organization or department within the organization, the number of people accessing the information, and the amount or type of content being licensed. Because licenses are as diverse as the organizations they are tailored to fit, the best and most accurate pricing information comes by way of a quote provided specifically to your organization. What is the process for purchasing a Lominger intellectual property license?
The process of purchasing a license begins by completing an application form. After Lominger’s Licensing department receives the completed application, they will send a written price quote. With acceptance of the price quote, Lominger will send the license agreement. Once pricing and terms and conditions are agreed to, the license agreement is executed. Lominger then provides the license file and invoices for the license. And then the customization can begin!
What content is available?
With the release of new products and updates, new licenses are constantly being created and made available. Please complete the license application indicating the specific content you wish to license, as a large body of Lominger content is available for licensing.
What languages are available?
In addition to English, many licenses are available in French, German, Spanish, and Italian with some products available in other languages. Please check specific product pages for language availability or contact licensing@lominger.com for more information about the content and language you wish to purchase.
